Green School

St. Nicholas Parochial School was presented with its third Green Flag recently and is now working towards receiving its fourth. The Galway City Mayor, Mr Niall Ó Brolcháin, and the Green's School Officer visited the pupils in the school to discuss the local environment.

For the parents of new students:

All leftovers (like apple cores & banana peels) cannot be put in the bin. Ask your child to take them home in their lunchbox for your compost.

Fruit Break

We have a fruit break in our school at about 10.00am - give your child a piece of fruit, peeled and easy to eat. Sweets that are "fruit-flavoured" (ie:Jellies, Apple Pie) are not allowed!

For the school year 2009-2010, An Tàisce are promoting a Walk On Wednesday scheme.Pupils in all primary schools are being encouraged to walk to school, carpool, or cycle. As our school is in the city, many of our pupils do this everyday.
